How to replace inner tie end rod on 2001 dodge intrepid?
Please give me the tools needed, time require, and other stuff you think that i might need to know.
You have a lock that fits over the bolt that holds it to the rack. That has to be pried off, then if I remember right, the bolt is a 13/16 that has to be taken out. It's kind of long and has a spacer behind it. Don't lose it.
The bad thing about this is the fact that you have to take the induction ducts for the engine off to get to the thing and not only are a pain to get off, but are a pain to get back on.
If you know what you're doing you can replace the rubber bushings yourself but if you don't have the experience don't try it.
The bad thing about doing any front end work on an American built vehicle is the fact that they don't use any lube when the put them together. Getting the adjuster sleeve and the tie rod ends apart can require a lot of heat and patience. Once you have everything back together, be sure and have it aligned.
